Speak at Praxis

We are interested in artists working in Ottawa and the surrounding region, at any point in their career, in any medium. We are less interested in a polished pitch than in an artist who wants to talk honestly about what they are making, how they make it, and why.

You do not need an exhibition history. You do not need to have spoken before.

Praxis is lightly curated to ensure that each event includes as broad a range of artists, styles, and approaches. So if you are not selected for the next Praxis we may well include you in a future event.

You present for 15 minutes with images of your choosing. Prior Praxis participants have used images or short videos of their work, their studios, their process, their inspiration.

Talks are held in the evening at Studio Space Ottawa alongside three or four other artists. We collect your images in advance and assemble them into a single deck, so you do not need to bring anything. One of us facilitates and runs the questions.

Speakers receive a modest honorarium.
